Ernest Arthur Gardner Biography

Ernest Arthur Gardner was a British archaeologist and scholar, born in 1874 and died in 1946. He was a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge and held the position of Keeper of Greek and Roman Antiquities at the British Museum. Gardner's specialty was the archaeology of the Greek and Roman world, and he is known for his work on Greek vases and Roman coins. He published numerous articles and books on these topics, including "Handbook of Greek Coinage" (1910) and "The Types of Greek Coins" (1915). He was also a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and the Royal Numismatic Society. Gardner was highly respected in his field and made a significant contribution to the study of ancient history and archaeology.
