Louis Joseph Vance Biography
Louis Joseph Vance (1879-1933) was an American novelist and playwright, best known for his crime and detective fiction. He was born in New York City and began his career as a playwright in the early 1900s. He wrote several successful plays, including "The Great Adventure" and "The Beloved Adventurer." In 1911, he published his first novel, "The Lone Wolf," which became a bestseller and launched his career as a novelist. He went on to write over 20 novels, many featuring the character of Michael Lanyard, also known as "The Lone Wolf." Vance's novels were known for their fast-paced action and complex plots. He died in 1933 in New York City.
