Lascelles Abercrombie (1881-1938) was a British poet and literary critic. He was part of the Georgian Poetry movement, which sought to create a new form of poetry that reflected traditional values and contemporary life. Abercrombie was known for his love of nature and rural landscapes, which often served as inspiration for his poetry. He published several collections of poetry during his lifetime, including "Earth and Air" (1912), "The Hundred Thousand" (1916), and "The Daffodil Fields" (1918). He also wrote several critical works, including "The Idea of Great Poetry" (1925) and "The Character of Poetry" (1930). Abercrombie was a professor of English literature at University College London and a member of the British Academy. He died in 1938.
