George Sylvester Viereck Biography

George Sylvester Viereck (1884-1962) was a German-American writer, poet, and journalist known for his pro-German views during World War I and his association with the German-American Bund. He was born in Munich, Germany, and emigrated to the United States in 1901. He began his career as a journalist and quickly became known for his pro-German views, which led to him being arrested for espionage during World War I. After the war, he continued to write and publish articles and books promoting German culture and politics. He also became involved with the German-American Bund, an organization that sought to promote German-American relations. Viereck's association with the group led to him being arrested again during World War II for his pro-German views. He died in 1962 in New York City.
