George Bernard Shaw Biography

George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950) was an Irish playwright, critic, and political activist. He was born in Dublin, Ireland and moved to London in 1876 to pursue a career in writing. He wrote more than 60 plays, including "Pygmalion," "Man and Superman," and "Saint Joan," and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1925. Shaw was also a prominent socialist and advocate for women's rights, and was a co-founder of the London School of Economics. He died at the age of 94 in Ayot St. Lawrence, Hertfordshire, England.
