G. A. Henty Biography

G. A. Henty (1832-1902) was a British novelist and historian, known for his historical adventure stories for children. He was born in Trumpington, Cambridgeshire, and began his career as a journalist and war correspondent. He covered several major conflicts, including the Indian Rebellion of 1857, the American Civil War, and the Franco-Prussian War. He then turned his hand to writing children's novels, most of which were set in historical periods, such as the Napoleonic Wars, the Crusades, and the American War of Independence. His works were popular with both children and adults and he was considered one of the most popular adventure story writers of his day. He died in 1902 in Folkestone, Kent.
