Mary Eliza Hanshew Biography

Mary Eliza Hanshew (1854-1930) was an American author, known for her popular detective fiction and crime novels. She was born in New York City and began her career as a writer in the late 1800s. She wrote over 50 novels, many of which featured her popular detective character, Thomas Q. Couch. Her books were known for their detailed and realistic descriptions of crime and criminal investigation, and they were popular with both critics and readers. Hanshew's books were translated into several languages and many of them were adapted into plays, films and radio programs. She died in 1930 in New York City, leaving a legacy of crime fiction that continues to be popular today.
