James Allen Biography

James Allen (1864-1912) was a British author and philosopher, best known for his self-help and motivational books. He was born in Leicester, England, and worked as a clerk and factory worker before becoming a full-time writer. He published his first book, "From Poverty to Power," in 1901, which became a bestseller and established him as a leading figure in the self-help and personal development genre. He followed this success with several other books, including "As a Man Thinketh" (1902), "The Path to Prosperity" (1904), and "The Mastery of Destiny" (1904). Allen's writings focus on the power of positive thinking, self-discipline, and the ability of individuals to create their own destinies through the power of their thoughts and actions. He died in Ilfracombe, Devon, in 1912.
