Eugene O'Neill Biography

Eugene O'Neill was an American playwright and Nobel laureate, who lived from 1888 to 1953. He is considered one of the most important playwrights in American theatre history, known for his realistic and symbolic dramas that explored the human condition. O'Neill's plays often dealt with themes of family, guilt, and the search for identity.

O'Neill's early plays were written in a naturalistic style, but he later transitioned to a more symbolic, expressionistic style. Some of his most famous plays include Long Day's Journey Into Night, A Moon for the Misbegotten and The Iceman Cometh. Many of his plays were also adapted into films.

O'Neill's work was widely acclaimed during his lifetime, and he received numerous awards and honors, including the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1936. He died in 1953, but his plays continue to be performed on stages around the world.
